I’m an Uncle again. My sister gave birth last night to a little boy, 7ib8. Both her and the baby are doing well. 

 

she called me early last night around 2.30. I wasn’t sleeping anyway and was talking to someone online when she drop called me. She said it was an accident, but I wasn’t convinced and checked in before I left for work. She admitted she was concerned the baby want moving so she went to hospital where they decided to induce. She gave birth at 1.43pm. My new nephew shares the same birthday as Lewis Hamilton and Nicolas Cage. 

Theres no mention of a name yet. They’ll probably stick to the traditional practice where they are given certain characters based on the baby’s lunar chart to name him. I’m hoping it’s kot going to be something that is too fancy or that people can’t probaounce - or even worse...a name that people can take the piss with.

i survived my first day at work yesterday. There was 200 emails to get through (most were spam) and then some reading. My boss wasn’t in, so it was a fairly relaxed day in. They always are for that reason, so although we dont’t down tools, we all feel a little more relaxed that day. 

She’s back in today though. We have a meeting this morning. I feel a little apprehensive about it as she seems to have been very proactive since I’ve been away with my stress leave last year and the other reasonable adjustments that are required. No doubt she will have a list of things to do, but it’s important for me to start challenging and pushing back with expectations. 

i bought 2 new journals last year. One is a productivity journal which I am using to set targets for fitness, money and wellbeing. The other is a standard diary I am using for workouts and tracking food/money habits to make me feel more accountable. It’s only day 2, but I managed all my targets yesterday and am keen to build upon this. 

My sleep improved slightly yesterday, but having leafy my radiator in, I woke around 2.39 (again 😒) in a sweat, then slept for anouthet hour or so. My sleep tracker shows that my sleep seems to be very erratic and I’m snoring too. According to my GP, snoring is a symptom of being overweight (I don’t smoke or drink, so those are ruled out). So the focus on my health should remedy this. Although I am feeling tired this morning. 

i had therapy last night. I felt tired and exhausted whilst I was there and kept fighting the urge not to fall asleep. I outlined how I was feeling. My recent breakup, how that touched on historical heartbreak and although I know it’s not true, I took my ex’s character criticism of me to heart. Added that I’m determined to focus on getting a new job this year too. As usural, he was insightful and I found myself wanting to stick with him. Decided to play this week in week and see how I manage my money and spending habits in the meantime. 

Right, time for a leg workout!
